Laurel Mardi Gras Parade
The Fraternal Order of Police Laurel Lodge #2 will hold its annual Mardi Gras parade in beautiful downtown Laurel on Saturday, February 22nd.
The parade, sponsored by the Bok Homa Casino, will roll at 6:00pm following the traditional parade route through downtown Laurel.
“We are excited to once again bring the fun and festive FOP Mardi Gras parade to Laurel,” notes FOP Laurel Lodge #2 President Brad Anderson.
Anderson adds, “Proceeds benefit the charitable work of the Fraternal Order of Police Laurel Lodge #2 including our ‘Shop With A Cop’ event at Christmas for underprivileged children. The proceeds also provide financial assistance for law enforcement officers injured in the line of duty.”
The entry fee is $150 per judged float and $50 per vehicle for general entry. Line-up is at 5:30pm and the parade rolls at 6:00pm. Applications can be picked up at the Laurel Police Department at 317 South Magnolia Street or Jones County Sheriff’s Department at 419 Yates Avenue, both in Laurel.
